The International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) is
a worldwide confederation of agricultural economists and other professionals
concerned with agricultural economic problems, including problems related
to the use of renewable resources and the environment. Its broad goal
is to make a difference through:
- Fostering the application of agricultural economics principles to
improve rural economic and social conditions.
- Advancing knowledge of agriculture's economic organization.
- Facilitating communication and information exchange among those
concerned with rural welfare.
The IAAE conference is held every three years and, in 2006, it will
be held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, Queensland,
Australia, 12-18 August.
Delegates will attend from all parts of the world and will include
professionals from many areas of government (including policy makers),
academia and industry.
The conference will consist of keynote presentations, panel discussions,
contributed papers and poster sessions, as well as a set of pre-conference
workshops. The program includes the opportunity to learn about Australian
agriculture and natural resource issues and visit local agricultural
areas of interest. These agricultural tour options will be offered as
part of the conference program (on Wednesday 16 August) and details
will be posted on this website once they are available.
We encourage you to submit Contributed Papers and Poster Papers using the online
submission protocol, which can be found on this web site. In addition, please
submit ideas for Symposia and Computer Presentations as described in the same
part of the web site.
